Hello everyone!
To our loyal customers that have stood by us from the beginning, as we learned the hard way, Thank You!
To our potential new customers, and future friends, Welcome to the Farm!
It is our firm belief that the future of food lies in the care and support of the small family farm. Millions of people are fed by factory farms and confined animal operations, but it wasn't always this way. Millions of people are also sickly, depressed and overweight, but it wasn't always this way. Millions of people live in a rut of blind gluttony and chemically induced stupors. It doesn't have to continue to be this way!
America is starting to awaken to the truth about food and the dangers of chemicals. Monsanto is your enemy! For each family that buys from a small farmer, grows their own vegetable garden, or plants a fruit tree in their yard, one more step in the right direction has been taken.
Buy from a farmer, grow a tomato plant, bring or teach a friend.
Here at Dolly-Rock, we've reached a crossroads. Our needs have changed, our goals have changed, and how it all affects you, as a customer of our farm has also changed. The biggest news, is we are moving. We have purchased a larger farm in a different part of the state. Our home is for sale and at some point, we're outta here. NEVER FEAR! At this point, the store and the shop are still open for business as usual. We will make every effort to inform every customer well in advance when the time comes. We are hoping for sometime in 2013. In the mean time, please continue to enjoy our products and services!
The second thing, is we are moving away from primarily a cattle/pig operation, and more towards fiber-producing animals. Sheep, angora goats and several breeds of angora rabbits came to live here in the past couple of years. At some point I will have hand-spun, hand-dyed yarns for sale, and other knitted, crocheted, and woven products. I am also currently studying for my Master Spinner Certificate. It is a 6 year program and I am coming to the end of year one. Long way to go!
