Tan

Tans are a running breed.
Flashy, high strung, and too
smart for their own good.
Raising tans is certainly a
challenge, especially since
there are very few tan
breeders in Wisconsin to
compete against.

Tans are also difficult to get
good photos of, since they are
not posed. They have to learn
to do it themselves.

Thanks to Chance Brewer for
my foundation stock.
Tiny Dancer
My foundation doe.
Outstanding pedigree, great
mother, produces excellent
quality offspring.

Their sister, Dolly, took a Best of Breed out of 89
at a show in summer 2009. She was recently the
proud mother of 4. Her owners were thrilled.

Pictured above is Phoebe, one of
only a couple offspring remaining of
Tiny Dancer. She has a
Best of
Breed
and a Best Opposite Sex,
both in 2010. She is one
OUTSTANDING brood doe! Her coat
may look like crap (typical of a
well-used brood doe, just off a
litter) but WOW look at her
arch,her long front limbs, her
factor. Wow.

Below is her daughter, Mountain
Music, by my GrCH VooDoo, who
unfortunately passed unexpectedly
this fall 2011. Guess who'll be
staying in my barn. Doesn't she look
JUST like mom? I can't wait till she
grows up.

Apollo
( GC Bird's Ataris X Bird's Proud
Mary)

Apollo is standing very poorly,
and appears to be quite flat in the
arch, but the reason I posted this
photo was to exhibit factor. The
deep, rich rust color, distributed
evenly over his underbody.
THIS
is what factor should look like.

Check Easy Money in the above
picture. He's got it too.
Stop Sign

This is a picture of Shotzie
building a nest in
preparation for giving birth.
Our rabbits do not live in a
heated building. In order for
babies to survive in our frigid
winters, mom HAS to build a
good nest. Lots of hay and
lots of hair keep babies from
freezing to death. Once they
give birth, if the temps drop
below 20 degrees at night, I
bring the nest boxes into the
garage and return them to
mom after 10AM when it
warms up a little. Once the
babies are fully furred, at
about 10 days old, they can
stay with mom all night.
This photo was taken on
January 10th, 2010.

5 beautiful 4-week old babies. She
did everything right, and they ALL
lived. Way to go!
