Dolly-Rock Farm
Quarterly Newsletter
Vol. 1 Issue 3 October 2010
Hello everyone, and Happy Halloween!
It's been a mighty busy summer and fall
clean-up is well underway as we prepare
for the onset of winter.  Do you realize it
could snow in as little as 4 weeks?
SCARY!!!!

Do you have your meat plans for the
winter? We are taking steers in around
Thanksgiving. They will be ready for pick
up mid-December. If you are interested in
a quarter, please let us know by
mid-November.

THANK YOU EVERYONE
who came to the Ledge-view Fall Food
and Energy Festival to support the
vendors and enjoy the exhibits. It started
out rainy, but by 11AM, the sun came out
and the people rolled in. We had a great
time and saw a lot of familiar faces.
Our daughter's bottle calf, Wizard, was
apparently the star of the day, as he
garnered attention from everyone young
and old.

But what about the Wild Foods
Challenge? There were many weird and
interesting thing to try. Below is a picture
of a meal worm cookie, one of the foods
in the challenge. Actually, they were
pretty good. Just wait till next year!
One of the other highlights of the
summer for us was the Calumet
County Fair. Below is a picture of
our daughter on Levi as she
prepares to compete in the
English Horsemanship
competition. She finished rather
well.

Bottom left is a picture of an
unexpected visitor we
accidentally caught in a rabbit
trap. Poor him, poor us...

Some of you may not yet be
aware that we had to increase a
few of our prices. Eggs, ground
beef, and ground pork have
increased by 50 cents a dozen
and 50 cents a pound. We
apologize for any inconvenience
this may cause.
We are sold out of boneless
chops until February or March,
sorry!
